The last 10 weeks has been an emotional but uplifting & spiritual journey learning about the importance of our Samoan culture & the Aganuu Faasamoa. It was even more special because I got to share this journey with my husband. Last night we had our fiafia night to celebrate, share our experience, show our family & friends how much we’ve learnt, how much prouder we are to be Samoan & give thanks to our parents for their undying love & sacrifices they made for us. In this day & age some of us find it challenging to be a NZ born Samoan but it’s important for us to understand & embrace our roots, our heritage, our culture, our aganu’u faasamoa so that we can continue to share it with our children & the many generations to come. I can’t thank my brother Tanoa’i & Apulu for leading & teaching this inspiring programme, forever thankful for what we’ve learnt so far & looking forward to continuing this journey with you both. I couldn’t be any more prouder of my husband, yr role as the ‘tufa-ava’ was on point & priceless moment seeing mum, dad & the family so proud! I know my beautiful parents would’ve been so proud of us too..luckily for me the tears were under control last night ha ha. To #Vasega6 our new family, we DID it & soooo proud of us all!! “E lele le toloa, ae ma’au i le vai”
